Vanderlyn Science Olympiad Team Wins 5th place in State!

The Vanderlyn Vikings Science Olympiad team was one of 65 teams from all over Georgia invited to compete in the State Championship Elementary Science Olympiad Tournament held on Saturday, May 13th at Kennesaw State University. Teams were invited to compete because of their top finishes in Regional Science Olympiad tournaments. The Vanderlyn team earned a slot as one of the top six schools in the DeKalb County Science Olympiad, held back in March, this year.

The Vanderlyn team earned a slot as one of the top six schools in the DeKalb County Science Olympiad, held back in March, this year.

With a fabulous team effort, including top ten finishes in 7 of the 18 different events, Vanderlyn placed fifth in the state. This outstanding performance follows up on last year’s second place state victory, and cements the school’s reputation as top performer for three consecutive years.
